Our Mission
To foster a creative and musical environment for the next generation of musicians in the Central Valley of California and allow them the opportunity to network with their peers and young musicians across the state. We hope to encourage a growing appreciation of both classical and new music by offering access to live performances in small towns historically underserved by the arts.
History
The Central California Youth Wind Ensemble (CCYWE) was founded in June 2015 by musicians in the Stanislaus county of the Central Valley of California. The ensemble is made up of college undergraduate students and recent graduates with ties to the Central Valley, as well as dedicated high school musicians from all over central California. The CCYWE strives to present young musicians an opportunity to perform with other young musicians of the highest caliber and music of the highest level in a consistent environment. The organization also presents audiences with serious and critical literature written exclusively for the wind ensemble medium.
